A bit about me

Hi, I’m Beth. I am a qualified life coach and vet. I live with my husband and little dog Bonnie. I absolutely love to dance, it makes me feel alive! I love adventure and having fun, kayaking, paddle boarding and camping to name a few, preferably with my favourite people. I love connecting with people!

I qualified as a life coach in June 2022. I qualified as a vet in 2016, since qualifying I had worked in a few different small animal practices. The job was varied and rewarding, I loved working up cases and especially connecting with clients. The job is an amazing one, but it is extremely demanding, and I struggled with anxiety and low self-confidence. Along with coming to terms with my mum being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s only a year before qualifying, and grieving for grandparents and a close friend. It was difficult. I ended up getting burnt out, having panic attacks, and just generally feeling dissatisfied with a job I’d wanted to do since I was 5.

I was at a loss, and knew I wanted to make a change. So three years ago I decided to see a counsellor, and it was the start of my self-development journey. I started to prioritise myself. The next step came as joining a group coaching programme called Vet Empowered. It was lifechanging. In this course I learnt about my inner critic and my self-limiting beliefs that had been holding me back. I learned how to empower myself.

As I went through the course, I started to realise that this is what I wanted to do. Help people. Help the “Me’s” out there (because I know I wasn’t alone in feeling like this!). I had always loved supporting and helping people, whether that was at work, helping New Graduates learn new skills or helping friends.

I have for the past year taken a break from clinical veterinary work. I wanted time to help care for my mum and I’m so grateful that I got quality time with her before she sadly passed away at the end of last year. The space has allowed me to consider what I really want my veterinary career to look like. I have spent the last year too training to be a coach and setting up my coaching business, and working with the wonderful Vet Empowered (as I felt so connected to their ethos).

I now am self-employed as a life coach. I coach my clients to help build healthy habits, improve their self awareness and move towards what they want with kindness and self-compassion. I work with Vet Empowered too, running their Sunday sessions (I really loved meditating and have learnt how to run these for the Sunday calls) and I am a Support coach for them.

I really love what I do. I get to remind people their inherent value as who they are!
